Rainmaker and Solar Bull Partner on AWG Water Project in Spain

Rainmaker International B.V., a subsidiary of Rainmaker Holding B.V., and Solar Bull, S.L. are pleased to announce a strategic cooperation to jointly explore the development of an innovative large-scale Atmospheric Water Generation (‘AWG’) facility in the Balearic Islands, Spain.
The proposed project marks an exciting step forward in the search for sustainable, local and climate-resilient water solutions. By repurposing an existing solar energy infrastructure project in the Balearic Islands, the cooperation aims to combine renewable energy infrastructure, battery storage capabilities and Rainmaker’s industrial-scale Atmospheric Water Generation technology to produce sustainable drinking water locally on the island.
As water scarcity continues to place pressure on island and coastal regions across the Mediterranean, the need for reliable and future-ready water infrastructure is becoming increasingly urgent. This project is designed to respond directly to that by producing drinking water from atmospheric humidity, powered by renewable energy sources and supported by advanced water-generation technologies.
Together, Rainmaker and Solar Bull will work on the technical conversion, permitting and long-term development of a hybrid AWG and renewable-energy facility. The cooperation brings together Solar Bull’s experience in renewable energy development and permitting with Rainmaker’s expertise in large-scale atmospheric water production.
Rainmaker’s envisioned development includes:
• industrial-scale atmospheric water production;
• integration with renewable solar and battery storage infrastructure;
• supply of drinking water for hospitality, tourism and local communities;
• refill and distribution solutions to help reduce plastic waste;
• long-term climate adaptation and drought resilience initiatives.
Once developed, the planned facility is expected to become one of the largest integrated AWG projects in the Mediterranean region. Beyond its local impact, the project has the potential to serve as a powerful blueprint for future climate-resilient water infrastructure in island and coastal regions worldwide.
